Game History

MediEvil 2 was developed by Chalice Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 1. The game was directed by Jason Wilson and marked the second entry in the MediEvil franchise, following the original 1998 game.

The game was released in North America on October 31, 2000, and in Europe on November 24, 2000. It did not receive a Japanese release, limiting its initial audience compared to other PlayStation titles of the era.

MediEvil 2 received generally positive reviews from critics upon launch, with praise directed toward its creative level design, atmospheric presentation, and the protagonist Sir Dan Fortesque's charming character. However, it faced commercial challenges in the crowded PlayStation market and did not achieve the blockbuster sales numbers that publisher Sony had hoped for.
